Flash flood watch issued for parts of the state

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the Big Island and Maui county Saturday. A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that may lead to flash flooding. There is a potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms. Due to the flash flood watch the following are issued: residents in flood prone areas as asked to be prepared for and be on the lookout for flood conditions, motorists should drive with caution and be on the alert for ponding and debris on the roadways, and be aware that road closures can occur without warning.
