At 1:36 p.m. radar continued to show moderate to locally heavy showers moving over windward east Maui slopes from Haiku to Hana to Kaupo.
Stream gauges along windward east Maui are indicating elevated stream levels.
Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to Makawao, Nahiku, Keanae, and Huelo.
A flood advisory has also been issued for the Big Island until 5:30 p.m.
At 2:24 p.m. radar showed heavy showers falling along the middle slopes of the Kau district.
Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to Wood Valley and Naalehu.
The public is urged to stay away from streams, drainage ditches, and low-lying ares prone to flooding.
Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility, and poor braking action.
Forecasters say a flash flood watch will in effect for Maui and the Big Island beginning at 6 p.m.
