A former UH Warrior football player is in trouble with the law after getting into a fight with his girlfriend.
Police arrested 24 year-old John Fonoti on Saturday.
His girlfriend told police that he punched, choked and cut her with a knife as she tried to get away from him.
Fonoti was charged with assault and abuse.
He remains in police custody. His bail is $25,000.
Fonoti was a defense end for the Warriors from 2005 to 2009.
