Fur seal back to its native habitat

A fur seal found in Hawaiian waters thousands of miles from its home is back in its native habitat.

The San Jose Mercury News is reporting the seal was nursed back to health at the Marine Mammal Center near San Francisco after being found on Oahu’s North shore at the end of July.

It was suffering from malnutrition and superficial bite wounds.

The seal was set free at Chimney Rock in the Point Reyes National Seashore.

It’s normally found off Alaska or the California coast.

The seal was fitted with a satellite tracking tag to see where it goes.
