Gas prices drop across Hawaii

HONOLULU (AP) – Gas prices in Hawaii have dropped this week but the average price continues to be the most expensive in the nation.

AAA Hawaii says Thursday’s statewide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $4.54, four cents less than a week ago.

The nationwide average is $3.98, about the same as last week.

Wailuku continues to have Hawaii‘s highest average with $4.90, six cents less than last week.

AAA Hawaii spokeswoman Diane Peterson says motorists are finally seeing relief at the pump in a week that saw major declines in crude oil prices.
