The governor spoke at a groundbreaking ceremony for an expansion project of the T.C. Ching field saying he is confident UH will deal with the investigation in a forthright way.
"I think there’s times that everyone takes a deep breath and let the situation unfold whatever was done was done,” said Gov. Neil Abercrombie. “But we’re looking out for the interest of the university if mistakes got made and that’s what happened."
UH had to cancel a Stevie Wonder concert after the singer’s handlers said they were not aware of the booking.
UH athletics director Jim Donovan and the general manager of the Stan Sheriff Center, Rich Sheriff, have been placed on indefinite leave.
