The state Department of Transportation advises Oahu motorists of a full closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction from the South Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp (Exit 22) to the Palama Street Off-Ramp (Exit 20C) from 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night, January 22, through 4:30 a.m. on Friday Morning, January 27, nightly, to allow crews replace the electronic message board on the Liliha Street Overpass.
The nightly work will begin with two lane closures starting from 9 p.m. nightly with the full westbound closures starting at 10:30 p.m.
During full closure hours, westbound traffic will be detoured to the Vineyard Boulevard Off-Ramp to re-enter the H-1 Freeway after Palama Street.
Some of the routes that may be affected by the full closure are as follows:
Pali Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 21B): Kailua-bound motorists wishing to access the Pali Highway may do so from South Vineyard Boulevard.
School Street Off-Ramp (Exit 21A): Motorists wishing to access North School Street are advised to proceed west on Vineyard Boulevard, turn right onto Liliha Street and continue to North School Street.
H-1 Freeway North School Street On-Ramp: Motorists wishing to access the westbound H-1 Freeway from School Street are advised to turn south on Liliha Street to North Vineyard Boulevard and proceed east to the H-1 Freeway On- Ramp.
Motorists are advised to use caution when driving through this area or use alternate routes. Motorists are also advised to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather permitting.
