A Halawa inmate who was attacked by three guards is now suing the guards and the state.
The attack on Joseph Tui was caught on tape.
The three guards were fired and pled no contest to third degree assault charges.
Tui’s lawsuit says he never fought back, and continues to suffer because of the attack.
Tui is serving a 10-year prison term for first-degree burglary.
