Hawaii Convention Center hosts Pan Pacific VEX Robotics Championship

The Pan Pacific VEX Robotics Championship returned to Hawaii bringing in 104 middle and high school robotics teams to compete for the 2013 World Championship in Anaheim, California in April. Kick off began on Feb. 21 ended Sunday, Feb. 24.

"This year’s Pan Pacific VEX Robotics Championship will bring the most participants to the Hawaii Convention Center than any other year," said Randy Tanaka, HCC interim general manager. "To be able to host one of the largest robotics competitions is a great opportunity for the convention center, allowing us to diversify our target segments and help to perpetuate academic growth, innovation and resources in Hawaii, U.S. and the Asia Pacific region."

The Robotics Education and Competition Foundation connects students, mentors, and schools in every community to a variety of successful and engaging technology-based programs.

It’s goal is to provide programs with services, solutions, and a community that allows students to advance themselves with the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to excel in the 21st Century.
