Hawaii man murdered in Los Angeles

A Hawaii man was murdered in Los Angeles.

It happened on Saturday, May 19 at around 1:30 a.m.

The Los Angeles Medical Examiner identified the victim as Bobby Khamvongsa, 27, who lived in Los Angeles but grew up in Honolulu.

He graduated from Kaimuki High School.

On Saturday, Wilshire area officers responded to a call of a traffic accident in the 300 block of Orlando Avenue.

When they arrived, they found Khamvongsa lying on the street suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe Khamvongsa was involved in a dispute with the suspect prior to the stabbing.

Detectives arrested Richard Herrera, 29, a resident of Los Angeles.

Herrera has been arrested and booked on suspicion of murder.

The motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
