Hawaii students create educational computer games

Some Hawaii middle school students are learning to create their own virtual reality games.

These students are from Dole Middle School and they’re using their knowledge of science and history to design their own educational computer games.

It’s all part of a pilot program called VR Quest.

"97% of all children in the US play video games and we wanted to create an alternative to the violent and negative content in games and we’ve been able to bring game design into schools and into great fully immersive virtual realities," says VR Quest creator Warren Black.

Once they’re done, the students will be able to interact in their games using head mounted displays.

UBS Financial Services is sponsoring this program.
