HONOLULU (AP) – The Hawaii Tourism Authority is due to discuss the performance of the agency’s CEO next week.
The agenda for the tourism authority’s administrative standing committee says it’s scheduled to discuss Mike McCartney’s evaluation at a meeting next Thursday.
The agenda says these discussions would be held during an executive session.
The entire board is scheduled to discuss any recommendation the committee makes, also in an executive session.
McCartney has been head of the quasi-state agency since 2009, when he was hired to replace Rex Johnson, who resigned after revelations that sexually explicit e-mails were found on his
government account and that he had forwarded racist and sexist e-mails.
McCartney was previously executive director of the Hawaii State Teachers Association. He also served as a state senator for 10 years.
