(Honolulu) — Contractors for Hawaiian Electric Company will be performing utility work in Manoa and Palolo on Sunday, October 28 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Helicopters are needed for this work because of the remote location of the work sites, the difficult terrain, and the desire to minimize the impact to nearby vegetation. The helicopters will be used to transport workers, construction materials and equipment to and from the work sites, and to assist crews with the utility work.
In compliance with FAA regulations and Hawaiian Electric’s safety practices, the helicopters will not fly over residential or populated areas while carrying loads.
Hawaiian Electric wants to advise the public of this work and apologizes for any inconvenience.
