The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Kauai and Niihau through late tonight.
A strong low aloft and abundant low level moisture will combine to bring heavy showers and thunderstorms to Kauai county.
With the ground saturated from recent rainfall, runoff from heavy rains will be higher than normal, increasing the potential for flash flooding and landslides.
A Flash Flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
