Fire investigators say a short circuit in an electrical outlet was to blame for a fire that destroyed a Pearl City home early Thursday morning.
The blaze caused $300,000 worth of damage to the home on Hookani Street.
The owner was not home at the time.
Investigators say the house had excessive amounts of combustible material, which was also a major factor in why the fire spread so quickly.
