Hilo artist designs a series of new stamps

A Hilo artist will have his work displayed in a series of new stamps.

Hilo resident John Dawson designed these five forever stamps which will be released next year.

They feature a sierra juniper, trident maple, black pine, azalea and banyan.

This is not the first time Dawson has worked on a series of stamps.

He was also involved in the "Nature of America" stamp series featuring a Pacific kelp forest.
