Hilo baseball team win senior league world series

Hilo baseball rules the world.

At least in the senior division of little league baseball.

A team comprised of 15 and 16 year olds from the Big Island town claimed the senior league world series Saturday in Bangor, Maine.

They racked up 11-runs on 16-hits in the championship game, against a squad from Tyler, Texas.

Big Island mayor Billy Kenoi will join friends, family and supporters at Hilo airport Sunday evening to greet the World Campion Hilo All-Stars team as they return after their victory in Bangor, Maine.

The homecoming will include a water cannon salute by the Hilo airport state fire department crews, and entertainment by the Hawaii County Band.
