A 20-year-old Hawaii Island man died in a hit and run accident in Hilo Wednesday morning.
Police say he was riding his bicycle on Kinoole Street when he was hit and killed by a woman driving a pickup truck.
The truck then struck a utility pole and fled the scene.
The 40-year-old driver was stopped by an off-duty officer and was arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide, DUI, failure to render aid and driving with a suspended license.
