A Hilo man has been arrested and charged with a dozen car break-ins.
45-year-old Joseph Ada is charged with multiple counts including theft, id theft and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Police say on October 26 a woman reported that she saw a man open her car door, grab her purse and run away.
Police arrested Ada in connection with the case and then linked him to 11 other car break-ins in the downtown and Keaukaha areas of Hilo.
Ada’s bail is set at $262,000.
