Hilo man sentenced to life for drowning girlfriend’s daughter

A Hilo man who admitted to killing his girlfriend’s daughter could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Anthony Poulin pled guilty to murder for the death of 5-year-old Javieanne Win.

In September 2009, Poulin called police to report the girl had been found unresponsive in a bathtub.

He was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Because the victim was under the age of 8, he will have to serve a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years.
