Hirono warns of impact from federal DOE dismantling

U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono warned Wednesday that efforts by the Trump administration to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education could have major consequences for Hawaii schools and universities, including more than $350 million in federal education support to the state and millions in grants already cut at the University of Hawai‘i.
