HONOLULU (AP) – Honolulu is seeking Lei Day Queen applicants. The city’s Department of Parks and Recreation says Jan. 13 is the deadline for applying.
Applications must be between 18 and 30 years old as of March 3, the day the queen will be selected at McCoy Pavilion in Ala Moana Beach Park.
The 84th Annual Lei Day Celebration is due to be held on May 1 at the Kapiolani Park bandstand.
Free lei making workshops will be held at various sites on Oahu during April in preparation for the lei contest.
