One such person is Dr. Nancy Pace, recently awarded the International Civility Star Award.
Honolulu Rotary Club president Dr. Nancy Pace is this year’s international Civility Star Award winner for 2012. She was our guest along with presenter Penelope Paik of the Association of Image Consultants International.
"It’s demeanor, it’s dedication and commitment, and as in Nancy’s case, also leadership," Paik says. "From knowing her over 20 years, she’s well deserving."
Nancy returned last week from Thailand.
"We were there with Rotary International conference and then five of us went up north to a very small town and we are working on a school for 600 children so that they will not be victims of sex trafficking," Dr. Pace says.
"To prevent any type of road rage, with your children, there are all types of situations that come up daily that may cause individuals to get a little out of control. So it is really important to keep that top of mind," Dr. Pace says. "I was really honored to receive this award particularly in the area of civility. It is an area that I am really passionate about, improving civility among people in our community and just kindness, compassion, etc."
