HPD arrests furlough inmate in stabbing of 2 women, killing 1

The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation announced late Friday afternoon it “will immediately conduct a comprehensive review of the work furlough program’s policies, procedures and eligibility criteria” after police said earlier in the day that a 55-year-old convicted felon, arrested for allegedly critically injuring his estranged wife and killing his girlfriend, was out on a work furlough pass Thursday.
