HPD sergeant placed on leave after DUI arrest

An HPD sergeant has been placed on leave after he allegedly hit a pedestrian while driving drunk.

Andrew Tsukano was arrested early Saturday morning for DUI, negligent injury and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.

He was released pending investigation.

An HPD spokesperson says he is on leave, and his police powers will be restricted.

The pedestrian is expected to recover.
