The Hawaii Pacific University men’s basketball team honored a fallen player Friday night.
As they took the court against Western New Mexico, the HPU team donned warm up gear sporting the number 12 and the name "Steinhoff" in honor of former player Kameron Steinhoff who died from brain injuries sustained in a skateboarding accident in May.
All proceeds from the game went to "Kam’s Helmets" an organization that seeks to provide free safety helmets to students.

"I’m just honored that they’re doing this for him," said Kameron’s father Shawn Steinhoff. "Even if they just save one life with those helmets and stuff like that then its all worth it"
