Hundreds of Pearl Harbor Shipyard apprentices graduate today

111 apprentices who have successfully completed a four-year, "earn while you learn" program.  The apprentices will become mechanics in one of 18 trades at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard that keep our nation’s fleet "fit to fight."

With the Class of 2011, the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Apprentice Program will ahve graduated more than 1,000 participants since the program was restarted in 1999.  Despite tough economic times and scarce employment opportunities.  Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard is paving the way for future leaders with well-paying, challenging trade positions on Oahu.

The graduation begins at 11:30 a.m. at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Gazebo.
