ID theft suspect pleads guilty to 48 counts

A member of an alleged identity theft ring pled guilty to 48 ID theft related counts Thursday.

Arnold Agtang was charged with ID theft, forgery, and other charges.

The deputy prosecutor says Agtang was responsible for stealing about $35,000.

"Mostly through banks, retail merchants, using counterfeit checks credit cards, and fake driver’s licenses. The victims in his part of the case include 14 people and several retail establishments and banks,” said deputy prosecutor, Chris Van Marter.

Agtang will get 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced in July.

Earlier this week, Pyong Pak was indicted, accused of being the leader of the ID theft ring that Agtang was a part of.
