Increased police presence to help move traffic along during Wahiawa bridge closure

In an effort to help relieve the afternoon gridlock near the Karsten Thot Bridge the state says it’s bringing in more special duty police officers starting Monday.
The officers will start at 1:30 in the afternoon, instead of 3 o’clock as they did last week.
They’ll direct traffic in the area.
The Karsten Thot Bridge project is scheduled to take at least another five weeks.
A reminder – one townbound lane is open for the weekday morning commute from 5 to 9 o’clock.
All other hours the bridge is completely closed.
