According to Kauai officials, a Massachusetts man was rescued near Hanakp’ai Falls after injuring his shoulder Monday afternoon.
Officials say just before 5 p.m., the 31-year-old man had been hiking about 100 yards below the falls when he dislocated his shoulder and called for help.
Rescue crews were able to airlift the man out of the area where he was then flown to Princeville Airport. From there he was taken to Wilcox Hospital for medical treatment.
