Isle NAACP will laud fruit fly researcher for his achievements

The Honolulu chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, each year awards a member of Hawaii’s African-American community its lifetime achievement award. This year is a first: The recipient is a scientist, Ernest J. Harris.
