‘It was an accident,’ says man imprisoned for killing officer

A 22-year-old Maili man who told police he fell asleep behind the wheel of his pickup truck began serving a one-year jail term Wednesday for running over and killing a Honolulu police officer at a traffic stop near Ko Olina in 2011.
