Job Fair at Blaisdell Center aids veterans

The event was open to everyone, in which 35-hundred people attended. The focus was on helping military veterans find work.

An initiative from the chamber of commerce "Hire our heroes," hopes to help veterans transition into the civilian workforce and point out the tax breaks offered for employers who hire veterans.

"Even with a masters degrees I still have not been able to find a job…sometimes I am not sure if it’s because I am in a wheel chair. I can train. I may not be able to lift a lot of stuff, but I don’t understand," said former ten year veteran Manesseh.

The national jobless rate is 8.5 percent for veterans of the wars in afghanistan and iraq, the unemployment rate is 12 percent.
