Honolulu police have set up a roadblock on King Street in Downtown Honolulu Friday Night.
It’s to help kick off mothers against drunk driving’s annual "Tie One On for Safety" campaign.
They’ve been out on the streets since 8:30p.m. sending the message, don’t drink and drive.
There have already been quite a number of alcohol related crashes on our roadways so far this year.
The most recent was just Thursday with the wrong-way crash on the H-2 Freeway.
"Roughly 20 percent of fatalities this year have been alcohol related," said Capt. Darren Izumo with the Honolulu Police Department.
This "Tie One On for Safety" campaign runs through New Year’s Day.
