The intersection at 18th and Kilauea avenues has seen several serious or deadly crashes over the years.
Most recently.. an 18 year old woman lost control and plowed into a fence.
She died at the scene.
Five years ago a traffic signal was installed to slow drivers down.
Those who use the intersection say more should be done.
"We gotta try to make a change for Tayler, whether it be the stop sign coming back or putting speed bumps up. Maybe a round about. Something that would slow the cars down," says Anthony Pangan, victim’s father.
"Make the traffic light a four way stop after a certain time. See if they can put a timer on it, four way stop at night..after 7 o’clock or when the sun goes down," says Ling Cordova, Kaimuki resident.
Representatives from the city’s transportation services were not at tonight’s meeting… they are scheduled to visit the Kaimuki neighborhood board in January.
