“We’re hiring both full- and part-time associates for all areas of the new store, including
supervisory positions,” said Janie Whitehead, newly-appointed store manager. “Walmart is
excited to bring the convenience of our new store along with good jobs to Kapolei. We’re also pleased to share with the community that our project is supporting approximately 200
construction workers through Nordic PCL.”
The company provides associates career opportunities. Nationwide, nearly 75 percent of
Walmart’s store management teams joined the company as hourly associates. Whitehead
began her career with Walmart in 1995 at the Kona store as a sporting goods associate and has worked in the Hilo and Kunia stores. Most recently, she served as store manager of the Kauai Walmart.
Walmart’s benefit program is available to eligible full- and part-time associates and provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including medical insurance with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also offers matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise for store associates, a Sam’s Club membership for club associates, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance.
Additionally, eligible associates receive an annual incentive based on the company
