TMZ reports that the 30-year-old Kardashian has hired celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser, whose previous clients include Britney Spears, Maria Shriver and Ryan Reynolds.
The website says Kardashian will not seek an annulment and will cite "irreconcilable differences" with the date listed as October 31, 2011.
Rumors about the demise of the couple’s marriage have been swirling in recent weeks.
The couple does have a pre-nup agreement.
Kardashian and Humphries married in a lavish California ceremony on August 20th that reportedly cost as much as $10 million.
