A brushfire on Kauai has destroyed one home and damaged three others in Poipu.
The fire broke out around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon near Ala Kinoiki and spread to a residential area.
Officials say it is now mostly contained.
About 98 homes in Weliweli Tract were evacuated as fire crews work to control the blaze.
"Spread across several aces of open field, three to four acres before it touched the back of those houses, but the wind was driving it so fast it was really difficult to get it under control," says Poipu resident Rick Bundschuh.
There are no evacuations at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Poipu Shopping Village.
There are no injuries reported.
