Kauai bus stop changing next week

As a result of community feedback and efforts to improve bus service, the Transportation Agency will be implementing changes to several of its Kauai Bus stops next week.

These changes will take effect Thursday, May 31.

In Ele’ele, the bus stop located in front of the Ace Hardware store will be moved to the intersection of Okupu St. and Waialo Rd. between Ele’ele Shopping Center and Kealaula Subdivision.

In Lihue, the Piikoi Building and Historic County Building bus stops will be removed from the Lihue lunch shuttle route. Both locations will be served by the Lihue Civic Center stop located on Hardy St.

Another bus stop that will be removed is the one located in Kapaa across from St. Catherine’s School, which is currently part of the Kapahi shuttle route. This location will be served by the Kapaa High School pavilion bus stop during non-school hours and the Mahelona Hospital foyer stop during school hours.
