Kauai Headlines: Koloa housing development

A groundbreaking ceremony was held this past week to mark the beginning of construction of a $13.8 million affordable housing project on our South Shore.
Targeted for completion in May of next year, Pa’anau Village Phase II in Kōloa will add 50 rental units to Kaua`i inventory..
Approximately 65 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony including representatives of key businesses and organizations involved in the Kōloa housing development.
Even though construction of Pa’anau Village Phase II is just starting, the developer, Kaua’i Housing Development Corp., is already taking names of income-qualified prospective tenants.
Occupancy is restricted to households at or below 60 percent of the Kaua’i median household income limits. For instance  a family of four people  $50,760 per year. Rents will be $650, $750 and $850 per month.
Pa’anau Village Phase II is considered one of the greenest, least toxic affordable housing projects in the state.
