A 59-year-old Kauai man died after getting a heart attack or stroke on Nonou Mountain in Wailua.
Officials say the man, from Lawai was hiking along the mountain’s trail, also known as the Sleeping Giant at about 2 p.m. when he apparently had a massive heart attack or stroke.
He was airlifted out and pronounced dead at Wilcox Hospital Saturday.
The name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin has been contacted.
According to police there were no signs of foul play.
An autopsy has been requested.
