Kauai officials will continue their efforts to go green

Anyone interested in coaching or entering a team in the community basketball leagues for boys and girls in grades 4, 5 and 6 are invited to attend an organizational meeting Tuesday, January 24, 6 pm, at the old Līhu’e Neighborhood Center (kitchen).

The rules, format and registration dates will be discussed.

The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR), in partnership with the County of Kaua’i, Kaua’i Community College (KCC) and the Kaua’i Chamber of Commerce, announced the Kaua’i Green Workforce Development Summit. The Summit will convene on Wednesday, January 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at KCC in Lihue. 

Business leaders, educators, policy makers and those interested in advancing green workforce development are invited to hear from eighteen local experts across four panel discussions covering the current assessment and outlook for green jobs, employer perspectives and challenges, and an interactive forum on sustaining the green economy.
