Kauai Police announce registration for youth wrestling classes

The Kaua’i Police Activities League announces ongoing registration for wrestling classes in Līhu’e and Kapa‘a.

Wrestling is being offered for youth ages 7 through 18 (if still in high school) at the Kaua’i Veterans Center in Līhu’e, and at the KPAL Youth Center in Kapa‘a.

Coach Matt Ballard will be teaching the Līhu’e classes from 6:30 — 8 p.m. on the following days:
•         Mondays and Wednesdays thru Feb. 1
•         Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Feb. 7 — March 1
•         Mondays and Wednesdays from March 5 — April 4
•         Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 10 to April 26

Registration for the Līhu’e wrestling program will be ongoing during scheduled class times at the Kaua’i Veterans Center, 3125 Kapule Hwy.

Classes at the Kapa‘a Youth Center will be taught by Coach Patrick O’Day and Coach Tom Perry on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4:30 — 6 p.m. for beginners, and
6:30 — 8:30 p.m. for experienced students.

Registration for the Kapa‘a program will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19 from 4:30 — 6 p.m. at the KPAL Youth Center located on the Mahelona Medical Center property, 4800 Kawaihau Rd. Late registrations will be accepted during scheduled practice times.

Each participant will need to complete a registration form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

The class costs $20 and includes a t-shirt.
