Police are seeking a suspect driving a 1993 White Ford SUV which caused a major traffic accident in Kapaa Friday afternoon and then fled the scene.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. as the SUV was making a left turn from Kipuni Way onto Kuhio Highway, and struck a 2001 White Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, which was heading northbound.
The collision caused the pickup to collide with a 2011 White Nissan 4DSD, which was heading southbound.
Medics responded and treated two passengers in the Nissan, who were both visitors. Both victims were treated and released at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Southbound traffic was redirected into the middle lane while the scene was being cleared. The roadway was not closed.
There was moderate damage to both the Toyota and the Nissan. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Damages sustained by the Ford SUV are unknown.
