Kauai rescuers searching for man swept out to sea

Rescuers on Kauai are searching for a man who was swept out to sea.

Officials say two males were walking the shoreline at about 11:30 a.m. Monday in an area between Kalihiwai Bay and Kauapea Beach, also known as Secret Beach, when they were swept into the ocean by high surf.

Lifeguards and Kauai Police located one of the victims, a 47-year-old male, and airlifted him to safety. He was taken to the Wilcox Hospital.

The search continues for the second male victim.

His identity is unknown at this time.
