The "Live! with Kelly" talk show is more than just celebrity interviews and musical guests.
Ko Olina has been buzzing since Kelly Ripa came to town last week.
The "Live! with Kelly" star came to the islands to shoot five episodes of her syndicated talk show.
"She is just like a big sister every morning you know she is really down to earth and very very nice,” said Honolulu resident Joseph Kam.
"About 700 guests from around the world and right here in Hawaii are in the audience to catch the Live with Kelly show.
About 100 local people were hired to work the show, from camera operators, to sound techs to performers.
The national exposure could certainly boost our tourism industry.
"Seeing how the Aulani is bringing in the scenery and all the different things Hawaii has to offer,” said Kam.
"Don’t tell Mark Consuelos I have decided we are just staying here,” said Kelly.
Is she for real? Kelly are you joking? "I am not joking,” she said. "I don’t know how to tell them that I think we should just do the show here and keep it here."
Unfortunately Kelly’s working vacation will soon come to an end but the memories will last forever.
"I think seeing Hawaii through my kids eyes has been pretty spectacular,” said Kelly. "I don’t know you just feel closer to God here somehow."
The talk show host will head to Los Angeles this weekend.
The show will broadcast live from the Kodak Theatre the morning after the Oscars.
