Castle and Cooke is a step closer to getting started on it’s Koa Ridge subdivision.
The State Land Use Commission approved the project today.
It includes 3,500 residences, a hospital, and commercial space in an area between Mililani and Waipio
Opponents have tried to stop the project citing the loss of agriculture land, and added traffic.
The land use commission will meet later this month to discuss conditions for the project.
It also needs city approval.
If that happens, Castle and Cooke expects to break ground at the end of 2013.
