L.A. detectives: Possibly more victims in Cecilio Rodriguez case

Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau believe there may be more victims involved in the sex abuse investigation against noted Hawaii entertainer Cecilio Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was arrested on September 28, 2011 by California authorities.

His bail was set at $200,000 but he has since been released after posting bail.

Rodriguez is accused of sex crimes against several females victimized when they were children.

One of the victims told L.A. County Sheriff’s detectives the abuse occurred between 1994 and 1997 in Carson, California.

Three females, aged 5 to 8 years old when the alleged acts occurred, have been identified.

The allegations of sexual abuse were not revealed by the now-adult victim until recently, when her father asked her to deliver a package to the suspect’s residence in Hawaii, while on an unrelated trip to that state.

It was then that the victim told her father of the alleged abuse by Rodriguez.

The victim reported the crime to Carson Sheriff’s Station deputies on June 23, 2011 which began the extensive investigation.

The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on September 27, 2011, and two counts of the charge of Lewd Acts Upon a Child were filed.

Rodriguez’s next court appearance is scheduled later in October.
