Lawmakers to debate a gambling bill for Waikiki casino

Lawmakers will debate whether to build a casino in Waikiki Monday at 9:15 a.m., at the state capitol.

The debate will take place in a hearing, which calls for 20 year license on a stand alone casino – that is, not in a hotel.

The measure also creates a Hawaii Gaming Control Commission and imposes a 15 per cent wagering tax.
