Lawsuit filed to recall Nap Nanny infant recliners

After five infant deaths and reports of more than 70 falls, the federal government is making a move to stop sales of a popular infant recliner.

More than 100,000 Nap Nanny and the Nap Nanny Chill recliners have been sold by Baby Matters since 2009. Now, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has filed a complaint against the company. It seeks a court order requiring the company to notify the public about the defect and offer consumers a full refund.

The Nap Nanny is designed for sleeping, resting and playing. But, according to the CPSC, babies have fallen out of the shaped foam base, even when the three-point harness was used.
